OPEN HOUSE Athens 2026<\/b> was completed with great success, attracting thousands of visits throughout its entire program. In total, 78 buildings participated, along with 31 spaces within the framework of MADE in Athens, and 2 city tours through the OPEN WALK initiative, offering the public a multi-dimensional experience of discovering the architecture of Athens.<\/p><\/p>\n\n
MARMOURIS S.A.<\/b><\/a> with THE SOURCE<\/b><\/a> participated as a Proud Sponsor of OPEN HOUSE Athens 2026<\/b>, consistently supporting the institution for the 4th consecutive year and actively contributing to the promotion of the city’s architectural identity.<\/p><\/p>\n\n This year’s theme “Emerging City”<\/b> focused on the modern transformation of Athens, highlighting new architectural projects, building reuses, and the dynamics of the new generation of architects. OPEN HOUSE Athens 2026<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0showcased this continuous evolution of the city, inviting the public to experience its new architectural identity firsthand. The theme was developed through individual actions, such as the “Emerging City”<\/b> category, which highlighted selected buildings of the program, the \u00a0OPEN PHOTO<\/strong><\/a> photography competition, and the OPEN OFFICE<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0initiative, featuring tours of architectural firms, bringing the public closer to contemporary architectural practice and its creators.<\/p><\/p>\n On 28\u201329.03<\/b>, the \u00a0MADE in Athens<\/a><\/strong> and OPEN WALK<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0initiatives were successfully held as part of OPEN HOUSE Athens<\/b>.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n\n MADE in Athens<\/b> brought the public into contact with modern and traditional production techniques through free tours led by the creators themselves. Visitors experienced the architecture of the historic Army Share Fund<\/b> building, its transformation into a modern department store, the window display design, as well as the creative process of the Greek brands Ancient Greek Sandals and Mantility.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n\n OPEN WALK<\/b>, through two routes, invited the public to discover lesser-known but particularly interesting aspects of the city.<\/p><\/p>\n\n The route at Fokionos Negri highlighted the architectural identity of Kypseli and the evolution of the urban landscape, while the IFI Lighting Night Walk “Light in the Urban Fabric” focused on the role of lighting in the historical center, offering an experiential journey that connected architecture with the modern urban experience.<\/p>\n\n Within the framework of this year’s event, the OPEN OFFICE initiative took place (02\u201303.04), through which the public had the opportunity to visit architectural firms in Athens and get a firsthand look at the work and approaches of the new generation of architects. At the same time, OPEN SCHOOL (03.04) was aimed at student groups, offering organized visits to selected buildings of the program.<\/p>\n\n The main event, \u00a0OPEN TOURS (04\u201305.04)<\/a>, opened 78 buildings to the public \u2014 residences, offices, museums, and hotels \u2014 highlighting the breadth of architecture and the way Athens is being transformed. A large part of the participations showcased the \u201cEmerging City\u201d<\/b> theme, focusing on projects that bridge the past with the future of architecture and highlight the continuous transformation of Athens.<\/p><\/p>\n\n Through the entirety of these actions, the public had the opportunity to encounter different facets of architecture and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the evolving identity of Athens.<\/p>\n The program of activities was also complemented by a series of competitions: \u00a0OPEN PHOTO<\/a> (photography competition), OPEN VOTE<\/a> (audience award – voting for the best tour), and \u00a0OPEN your map<\/a>\u00a0(competition for the best OH map).<\/p><\/p>\n\n The OPEN YOUR PORTFOLIO<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0competition, in collaboration with the Vakalo Art & Design College, is held until 30.04, offering for the 12th consecutive year another full scholarship for postgraduate studies in Architectural Design, validated by the British state University of Derby, leading to the award of the MA in Architectural Design<\/b> degree.<\/p><\/p>\n\n The visual identity of the \u201cOPEN HOUSE Athens & Thessaloniki 2026\u201d event emerged following a competition co-organized with the Vakalo Art & Design College.
